Amy burrell (B.Des)

Muralist, Illustrator, Author, Art Educator

Holding a Design Degree majoring in Illustration, I have spent over 20 years shaping branding, marketing, publications, educational resources, interactive apps, and murals across New Zealand and abroad. My artistic foundations also include studying realist drawing in Italy for a year, bringing an elite level of technical skill and visual storytelling to every piece I create.

I don't just draw for children—I understand how to design resources that capture their attention and transform physical spaces. I launched my own food education programme which was adopted by schools and ECEs throughout the country, resulting in 22,000 New Zealand children actively participating in growing and eating a new fruit or vegetable each week.

Now settled with my family here in Upper Hutt, I spend my time painting fun characters and collaborating with local schools on large-scale creative mural projects. I have a passion for working with the next generation and helping them confidently express themselves through art.
